An on-line test can be generated from a database of questions. The databases can be:

or a combination of the two kinds.

The databases used in this demonstration are:

Create.A.test also allows the instructor to create a test from multiple databases.

Database examples:
(i) The static database.
  • The database sample1.db contains four questions.
  • shuffles the order of these questions as they appear in the test.

    (ii) The dynamic database.
    • sample2.db contains five questions. The values in each question are generated by a random number generator. THe tests that are created using questions from this database will have different values assigned to the questions each time. You can try this out by clicking on the "Create.A.test from sample2.db" button below a few times and watch the questions that are generated.
  • calls a random number generator to assign different values to the questions and
  • shuffles the order of these questions as they appear in the test.

    (iii) Multiple databases.
    • The test is generated from questions in two databases:
      • sample1.db - a static database that contains four questions.
      • sample2.db - a dynamic database that contains five questions.
  • assembles the test from the instructor's input of the number of questions from each database.
