Abstract
In addition to communications and access to resources, on-line instruction should also provide instructional guidance. By focusing learners on the skills and knowledge to be learned and offering continual opportunity for self-assessment and remediation, on-line learning activities can ensure knowledge of results and lead to increased learner confidence and contribute to success in their program of studies. This paper describes the instructional design issues that faced the design of a web site to support mature learners in a pre-entry college program for mature learners.
