Learn Single-Replacement Reactions:

  • Watch Online lecture #3, Single Replacement reaction Involving the Halogens, is available on your video player. The accompanying worksheet is under Scanned lecture notes. Download and complete the worksheet. It is due on Friday, Nov 9.
  • Review Online lecture #2, Single Replacement Reaction Involving Metals. I handed back your worksheet for online lecture #2 and you should go over all the reactions to make sure they are written correctly. Answers to Question 20 and 21 are posted. Check your answers against mine. Make sure you are not missing any charges on the ions, physical states, and that all your reactions are balanced.
  • When you have completed the above items, download the 2nd Single Replacement reaction worksheet to test your knowledge. It is available under Scanned lecture notes. The answers to the worksheet will be available on Wednesday, Nov 7.

Review Empirical formula from Combustion Reaction data:

  • Review Online lecture #1, Determine Empirical Formula from Combustion Reaction Data.

Review Double Replacement Reactions:

  • Answers to the Double Replacement Reaction worksheet is posted. Check your answers against mine. Make sure you are not missing any charges on the ions, physical states, and that all your reactions are balanced. Review the Oct 23 lecture on Double Replacement Reaction.

Experiment 8 Lab Report:

  • Experiment 8 lab report is due on Friday, Nov 9 in lecture. I will only accept paper version of the lab report. Make sure you hand in ALL the pages necessary for this lab.
