Test #1 includes up to this lecture

On the day of the test, you will be provided with the following as reference:

  • a Periodic Table
  • the expanded road map

Test #1 will have questions that test your knowledge on:

  • Unit 2 – Determination of significant figures
  • Unit 2 – Rounding and calculations involving significant figures
  • Unit 2 – SI units and prefixes
  • Unit 2 – Conversion between SI units
  • Unit 2 – Density type calculations
  • Unit 3 – Matter – Classification of Matter
  • Unit 3 – Identify Physical/Chemistry properties
  • Unit 3 – Identify Physical/Chemistry change
  • Unit 4 – Charge of ions, single elements and polyatomic ions
  • Unit 4 – Naming compounds
    • Know the polyatomic cation and anions names and formulas
    • Know how to name different types of compounds
    • Write chemical formulas from chemical names
    • Write chemical names from chemical formulas
  • Unit 5 – Calculations
    • Unit 5 – Calculations involving Avogadro’s Number, mass (amu and grams), moles, number of particles, molar mass, atomic mass
    • Unit 5 – Percent Composition, Empirical formula calculations
    • Unit 5 – Molar volume of a gas
    • Unit 5 – Concentration of solution – Molarity (moles/Liter)
    • Unit 5 – Solution dilution using dilution formula and explaining how to dilute a solution
