The ChemEd 2005 budget is estimated to exceed $200,000. Revenue for the conference will be partially offset by the registration costs, which are charged to the exhibitors and delegates.

To help offset some of those costs and to ensure that we meet our financial obligations, we must realize a significant amount of donation and sponsorship monies. Should we generate funds in excess of our costs, as a registered non-profit society, we have committed to establishing an endowment or scholarship for students pursuing a teaching degree in chemistry at the University of British Columbia.

The ChemEd Committee has secured all necessary space at the University of British Columbia for the conference including residence accommodation, the Chan Centre for the opening address, lab spaces, lecture rooms and the Student Recreation Centre for exhibits and displays.
