VIII-III. Predict Chemical Reactions
Complete and balance equations (molecular, total ionic, net ionic) for the following reactions. If a reaction should not occur, state that there is no reaction.
| (a) | Calcium metal was placed in hydrochloric acid. |
|---|
| (b) | A solution of copper (II) sulfate, CuSO4, was poured into a galvanized (zinc-coated) bucket. |
|---|
| (c) | Copper metal was dipped in a solution of sodium chloride, NaCl. |
|---|
| (d) | Silver nitrate, AgNO3, and potassium chloride, KCl, are mixed. |
|---|
| (e) | Potassium chloride, KCl, is mixed with iodine, I2. |
|---|
| (f) | Aluminum sulfate, Al2(SO4)3, and barium nitrate, Ba(NO3)2, solutions are mixed. |
|---|
| (g) | Sulfuric acid, H2SO4, and potassium hydroxide, KOH, solutions are mixed. |
|---|
| (h) | A potassium bromide, KBr, solution is mixed with chlorine, Cl2, gas. |
