The isotope,14C, is not a naturally
occurring isotope of carbon. 14C is formed in the upper atmosphere
from the bombardment of 14N atoms with neutrons. In the calculation
of atomic mass of carbon, 14C does not contribute to the atomic mass
of carbon.
